Jun 23, 2014. The perfect project for the three skeins of "Farmland" print of yarn that my father gave me around 2008. The final version of this dress was completed Jun 14, after several transformations. The first was a crocheted t-shirt, redone a couple of times, and the next couple were improperly done versions of this dress. Finally, though, I have a summer dress to wear! Sometime soon a pattern will be available for sale, and at such time, pictures of the previous versions should be uploaded, as well.
After a few test walks, I have found that my dress does exactly what it was designed to: expose my arms and legs as radiators, and keep me comfortable in warm weather. The acrylic yarn material might seem to insulate my torso, but the large stitches (I used 6.5 mm needles) have excellent ventilation. It has very little contact with my legs while walking or standing, so does not act like the blanket it appears to be. Inside cold restaurants, it only insulated where it had skin contact--but those radiators definitely needed a little bit of cover.
