After a few test walks, I have found that my dress does exactly what it was designed to: expose my arms and legs as radiators, and keep me comfortable in warm weather. The acrylic yarn material might seem to insulate my torso, but the large stitches (I used 6.5 mm needles) have excellent ventilation. It has very little contact with my legs while walking or standing, so does not act like the blanket it appears to be. Inside cold restaurants, it only insulated where it had skin contact--but those radiators definitely needed a little bit of cover.
